The National Title I Conference, sponsored by the National Association of State Title I Directors, is the premiere event for individuals working within the Title I program. With nationally recognized speakers and more than 4,000 colleagues with whom to compare notes, this is the ideal place to further your knowledge about programs, policies, and great ideas.
Attendees at the conference may choose to attend any sessions within the following
three central themes:
- Sessions under this theme address the issues of effective instruction, including research-based practices, high performing educators, age-relative programs, and diversity.
– Sessions in this theme address the main areas of reauthorization of NCLB, as well as current policy and practice.
- Sessions within this theme focus on the issues of accountability, resource management, professional growth & support, principal leadership, climate and culture.
The National Title I Conference is open to any individual interested in the Title I Program. Historically, attendance at the Conference has followed the percentages shown below:
- 46% District staff (Title I Directors or Coordinators, Curriculum Directors, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, Federal Program Directors, Fiscal Officers, other district staff)
- 32% Building administrators (Principals and Assistant Principals, Title I Site Coordinators)
- 12% Classroom staff (Teachers, Paraprofessionals)
- 7% State staff (State Title I Directors, Assistant State Superintendents, State Federal Programs Directors, other state staff)
- 3% Other (Research Lab Staff, University Teacher Trainers, Education Foundation Staff)
Sessions are selected to appeal to each of these groups of attendees in general proportion to their percentage of attendees. For instance, the Conference offers significantly more sessions designed for district level staff than classroom teachers because there are many more district level attendees than teachers attending the Conference. While parents are welcome to attend, this Conference is designed primarily for administrators and there are no sessions specifically focused on issues from the parent perspective.
All conference sessions will be listed on this website as they are selected and finalized (see Presentations). A complete, downloadable version of the agenda will be available in the fall.
